Mattan is currently a Portfolio Manager at VenturesLab, a family office that invests in seed-stage technology companies in PR China and the USA. 

He was previously a Senior Investment Director at Fosun, PR China’s largest private company, where he conducted strategic cross-border investments and M&A. He also served an investment manager and chief of staff at Hony Capital, PR China’s leading PE firm, where he and the core team grew the firm from USD500M in AUM to over USD9 billion, with blue-chip LPs such as Bill Gates, Stanford, Goldman Sachs, Temasek, and Rothschild. He was  also on the private equity team at Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia.

Mattan holds an MBA from UCLA, an undergraduate degree with honors from UC Berkeley, and completed coursework in the Master’s of Biotechnology program at the University of Pennsylvania. He is business-level fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Hebrew.
