Professor Udaya Mohan Devdas specializes in human resource development (HRD) as a trainer, consultant, researcher, author, and content developer. His expertise is in the areas of HRD and national HRD; human resource management; diversity, equity, and inclusion areas of women leadership and diversity management; entrepreneurship development; peoples’ behavior in organizations; organization learning and development; general management; and qualitative research design.
He has engaged in public and private sector training and consultancy projects in reputable national and international organizations. He has been a invited visiting professor in the Faculty of Management, University of Lodz, Poland since 2017, and a resource person assisting with training and content writing for the APO, Japan, and the National Productivity Secretariat, Sri Lanka, since 2021.
Prof. Mohan is currently attached to the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, and he is the first to obtain a Professorship, specializing in Human Resource Management in the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, while holding country’s first PhD in Human Resource Development.
Prof. Mohan is an innovator of many learning and development programs and platforms and has held many administrative positions in the university, including being the head of the Department of Human Resource Management from 2015 to 2018.
He has been successful in creating and maintaining fruitful international collaborations and initiate and facilitate for signing Memorandum of Understandings with international universities and agencies. He has published books and book chapters with internationally renowned publishers such as Sage Publishing and Springer.
He has further chaired and co-chaired academic conferences and been an invited speaker for national and international organizations. Prof. Mohan is a recipient of the Malaysian International Scholarship for his PhD studies and the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for a short-term academic visit to Europe.
