Jan-Erik Johanson is a Professor of Administrative Science and Director of the Research Group on Public Management and Governance at Tampere University, Finland. He has compiled seven books and some hundred reports during his 30-year academic career. Johanson has recently published Strategy Formation and Policymaking in Government with Palgrave. He co-edited and co- authored Hybrid Governance, Organizations and Society and Governing Hybrid Organizations, both published by Routledge. In his practice-oriented work, Johanson has evaluated public policies such as performance management within central administration and evaluation of COVID-19 measures taken by the government. He has taught and facilitated numerous strategic management exercises both at home and abroad. In addition to being passionate about strategic management, his interests include governance of hybridity, team-based organizations, public policy, and social network analysis.
