Abdul Kareem Sulaiman

Abdul Kareem, BSc., M.A., BL., Cert-in-Teaching (Hr. Edn.), DIBF, ACTA has more than 32 years of experience in the corporate as well as in the academic arena.
He initially served one of the world’s largest power plant equipment manufacturing organisation. His experience in the field of Human Resource Management includes Manpower Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Development, Compensation Management, Career Planning and Development, Performance Management, etc.
Abdul Kareem has been involved in teaching Business Management, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources Management subjects at the University of London’s bachelor’s degree programme in Singapore over the last twenty years. He also served one of the Singapore’s leading tertiary institution as lecturer for about three years in the School of Business, where he taught Management and Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Total Quality Management subjects. He has conducted a number of seminars and in-house training programmes in Singapore, Malaysia and India especially in the areas of leadership, supervision, personal development, team building, train the trainer, employee retention, etc. for many organisations including the National University of Singapore (DEMS) and the Singapore Human Resources Institute.
As a Human Resource Consultant he provided consulting and training for many organizations including leading MNCs in Singapore besides serving as the Head of Human Resources of a leading retail group in Singapore.
Currently, Abdul Kareem heads a Management Consulting and Information Technology services organisation in Singapore.
He is currently a member of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI), the Adult Education Network (a professional body under the aegis of WDA, Singapore), National Institute of Personnel Management (India) and was a member of the Singapore Productivity Association from 1994 to 2002. He is actively involved in SHRI’s activities. As core team member was responsible for developing the Singapore Human Resource Professional Accreditation framework and currently serving as its panel member. Also, was appointed by SHRI as a member of the panel of judges for the National HR Challenge and National HR Awards competitions in 2011 and 2012. He is also actively involved in the various Grassroots and Community Development Organisations since 1980.
