Syed Saquib Mohyuddin

Saquib Mohyuddin is Pakistan’s leading expert in the areas of financial, industrial and development sectors. Presently he is Chairman of Pakistan Enterprise Development Facility (PEDF), President of National Institute for Competitiveness (NIC) and President of Pakistan Fiji Business Forum. He is the founding Chief Executive Officer of National Productivity Organization-Pakistan and former CEO of SME Business Support Fund, government of Pakistan.

Mr. Mohyuddin has over 40 years of experience working for national, multinationals and governments in the UK, USA and Pakistan.  Having served on several policy formulation committees at national and international levels has allowed him to make useful inputs for generating the spirit of entrepreneurship in the local industry, through total quality management, innovation, knowledge management, skill development and benchmarking of best practices.

Mr. Mohyuddin has developed financial products and bankable proposals for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and introduced the concept of Business Development Support Services and Venture Services in Pakistan. Developed 6 brands along with value chain analysis for franchising businesses for youth and women entrepreneurs.  As a Certified Trainer of IFC-Business Edge (World Bank Group) and having strong technical background in Total Quality Management and Productivity, Competitiveness Management, Quality and Efficiency Improvement Training Programs; managed and conducted over 300 training programs internationally as well as locally in rural and urban cities of Pakistan.  Due to his various initiatives, several micro and small enterprises have graduated to profitable businesses.

Mr. Mohyuddin has more than seventeen years of experience working for the SME sector in policy formulation and program designing. As Advisor to EU on Pakistan’s research studies on SMEs, carried out primary research of emerging sectors of SMEs. He has conducted various national and international workshops as Lead Resource Person and has been invited as Keynote Speaker to various international conferences and seminars on SMEs and entrepreneurship development. He has worked/rendered services as an expert to governments of Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, South Africa and Turkmenistan.  He is honored by MIT-Enterprise Forum for promoting entrepreneurship in Pakistan.  Mr. Mohyuddin has worked on various projects/consultancy assignments for GIZ, USAID, DAI, CIDA, EU, FAO, CFH International and IFC (World Bank Group). He has authored/co-authored various research studies.
