Professor of Biosystems Engineering, Department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Received a Master’s degree and PhD in Biotic Environment (Regional Resources Engineering) from Yamagata University, Japan. More than 25 years of experience in teaching environment-related courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and in research on the environment, ecosystems, and energy. Has published more than 85 articles on environmental and natural resource issues. Involved in numerous international collaborative projects undertaken by Cap-Net (for capacity building in sustainable water resources management), Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and Japan Science and Technology Agency, Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research, etc.
